Bird watching at Pumula Lodge

The magnificent, indigenous garden at Pumula Lodge is the perfect setting for nature lovers and bird watchers alike. Pumula boasts an abundant bird life and more than 100 species have been identified to date. True birding enthusiasts can also visit the Woodbourne bird sanctuary, a mere 3 km from the lodge where the many visiting waders can be studied at leisure. Or, take a close drive to the surrounding Knysna forests and enjoy a pleasant walk on one of the many trails. You might just catch a glimpse of the shy and elusive Narina Trogon.

Below is a list of birds that have been identified at the lodge to date.
